Throughout these six editions of Portico, we've been celebrating and high cantine tifferent products and services whose origin can be found in our traditions, all made with passion, authenticity and the
highest of standards.
Despite having remarkable know-how and a recognised capacity to produce a wide range of things, there still remains a challenge, which is filly capitalising on the value of these products and extracting maximum return from them.
One of the hurdles identified is initial investment in brands and, in general, intellectual property in many of our economic sectors.
Communication is also a key factor in this equation. It is rarely undertaken regularly, consistently or aimed at properly identified targets that ensures effectiveness.
Let's not forget the controversy surrounding the traditional Poveira jumper, which hit the headlines in 2021 when an international brand misappropriated the original design. Little has changed since those initial news stories.
At Portico, one of our missions is to promote the arts and crafts that distinguish us, in the hope that they will increasingly assert themselves as the cultural identity flagships they should be, while helping to preserve and enhance their value for the community from whence they come.
We hope that with every page turned, with every story told, there will be inspiration and motivation for those with us on this quest. We also hope this journey will awaken them to the unique character of our heritage.
