The Greenhouse artistic project was chosen via a limited competition for the 2024 Venice Biennale exhibition space, after three curators were invited to submit proposals: Mónica de Miranda, Marta Mestre and Sandra Guimarães.

Conceived by Mónica de Miranda, Sónia Vaz Borges and Vânia Gala, the project oversees the creation of a "Creole Garden" at Palazzo Franchetti, which hosts the Portuguese Official Representation at the Italian Biennale. This conceptual "garden" takes the shape of sculpture, school and installation, which are linked by a transdisciplinary discourse that operates as a living archive.

According to Direção-Geral das Artes, "the curatorial and artistic team suggests collective reflection upon how nature, ecology and politics connect, encouraging various choreographies that stem from meetings and collaborations between the public, communities and the artist. These offer a variety of artistic, scientific, speculative and imaginary expressions that spawn the multiple voices of artists and immigrant communities regarding the theme 'Foreigners Everywhere', responding directly to Adriano Pedrosa, the Biennale's curator.

In addition to her participation at the 60th Biennale, Mónica de Miranda's work is represented in various public and private collections, such as the Nesr Art Foundation in Angola and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, National Museum of Contemporary Art and Municipal Archive in Lisbon.
